The Best Parts of the Mind

The Best Parts of the Mind

Anthony Hayes | @ahayes_mmi

I have a theory…It is a bit far fetched so be open minded. I believe the most creative parts of our mind cannot be unlocked without some outside influences or extreme circumstances.

Let’s consider a few of the most influential minds in history.

  • Beethoven-deaf
  • Kurt Cobain-drug addict
  • Darren Hayes-depression

Jimmy Hendrix, Jim Morrison, the list does on…The point is, that it took something extraordinary to unlock something within all these people.

I am not saying nor do I condone illegal or dangerous behavior, drug use of any kind whatsoever. I DO believe there is a different plane of consciousness we gain access to when we are pushed beyond our physical abilities and comprehension.

Some of the greatest athletes in the world make their biggest plays, under the most extreme pressure with only seconds left. But how?

“We transcend beyond ourselves and we just are. Untainted by the outside.”

I myself for example suffer from clinical depression. An aliment for which I have been to some far out places. The more you delve deeper into it yourself the more answers you will find.

The Science of Being by: Anthony Hayes

The Science of Being “mock” Cover

I wrote a book and it took me forever. I was only able to write when I was at my highest and lowest points in my life. The floodgate opens, swiftly closing with no key in sight. It was in those brief moments of uncertainty, moments of clarity I could see sounds and hear colors.

I am a perfectionist and it also causes me to procrastinate. When you need to create content this can be a big obstacle. It hinders yourself, your purpose, and your passion.

To live and make a difference in the lives of those around you is the key to your success and worth. I don’t even know you and you’ve already had a profound impact on me just by reading this!

You are more of a valuable asset then you give yourself credit for. Due to the fact that originality stands alone, creative people such as you and I often feel alone and unimportant but that is not the case at all. Quite the opposite really.

We are all manifesting things at a different time you are right about that…but we are doing it OUR way, with OUR hands, and OUR tools…we are evolving just as the masters before us. So keep this in mind when you have self doubt as we all do:

Control the Controllable, Keep on Flowing, Just Be…

Anxiety, a word that gets thrown around all to often, Scott has experienced first hand growing up. What I find even more fascinating and inspiring, is that he used this insecurity to fuel his fire. How Podcasting and Blogging Changed My Life

By: Anthony Hayes

Over the course of the past year I’ve experienced a slew of life altering affirmations. First and foremost, the birth of my beautiful daughter Violet. A journey you can follow along with in my blog; Raising Violet – The Daddy Diaries.

My thirtieth birthday also happen to fall on the same day as my first Father’s Day, making it an even more special day.

I am extremely fortunate and grateful. I’ve got my career, a loving family, all I was missing was an outlet for my creativity.
Then I found podcasting & blogging.
While listening to my favorite podcasts via Spreaker, “The DiRT” with Marie Lanza and The Tiffany Granath Show, I learned of the podcasting revolution.

Apple says that those billion subscriptions are spread across 250,000 unique podcasts in more than 100 languages, and that more than 8 million episodes have been published in the iTunes Store to date. (Source Macworld)

Me Myself and I Radio Podcast

On a whim, I experimented with the Spreaker iOS app on my smartphone with no direction, nor purpose. As of December 11, 2015 I’ll have been podcasting for two years! Now, 25 episodes and counting I’m beginning to find my voice and others are taking notice. Me Myself and I Radio is an ever-evolving process of Self Discovery just as my message.

With staggering numbers in the hundreds of thousands, it can be difficult to gain momentum in this ever-evolving revolution called Podcasting. Research has told me that podcasting is niche specific. In other words, to have your message heard your must dedicate your show entirely to a specific topic or your area of expertise.

While I understand this concept, I didn’t feel comfortable putting my show in a preverbial box. I feel like Me Myself and I is just broad enough that anyone can find value in it.

We do these challenges to learn about ourselves–by doing. I believe taking action is the best way to discover the habits, skills and knowledge to get ‘Unstuck,’ get on track and reach our goals.

On Me Myself and I Radio I cover topics such as Personal Development, Habits, Fear, Failure, Mindset, Meditation, Productivity, Strengths & Weaknesses, Emotional Intelligence, Personality, Sales, Mindfulness, Productive Thinking, Communication, Self-Awareness, Personal Finances

Podcasting has taught me a lot about Myself, others and the world around us. However I still felt as though I was coming up short. My book, The Science of Being couldn’t get here quick enough and I needed an outlet to strengthen my message until it was published. Enter The Blog.

The Blog(s)

The first of two: Me Myself and I Radio #blog is meant to compliment, and echo the message of the podcast and book. It serves a road map as well as extended show notes for each episode, all wrapped up in my mantra; Keep on Flowing, Just Be…

Raising Violet – The Daddy Diaries

My second blog Raising Violet – The Daddy Diaries is dedicated to my first child. I set out to share my experiences as a first time father with other dads just like me. To my disbelief, this journey has sparked rave reviews and avid readers.

Learning by Doing

In order to sharpen and polish my new found hobbies, I would need learn more about them. I actively do this a number ways:
1.) Google Searches and YouTube Tutorials.
2.) Following, listening, and reading from top industry pioneers.
3.) Attending webinars.
4.) Community groups, Google hangouts.
5.) A lot of Trial and Error.
I’m nowhere close to where I see the magnitude of my message being one day. But I’ve met a bunch of great people along the way who have helped me to learn so much about the Me Myself and I elements. They include Joe Pardo from Dreamers Podcast and Author of 31 Life Changing Concepts, Digital Dads, Chris Wilson & Stephen Warley from the UnStuckable podcast, AC Fuller from writer 2.0 podcast and Author of Anonymous SourceDarienne Dorazio from #MISSIONLove, Sam Shelley, Marie Lanza, and Colin Chambers to name a few. I plan to include these names amongst others to the interview line up on my show. The question is will they accept? Subscribe and tune in to the Me Myself and I Radio Podcast to find out!

Dreaming with Joe Pardo (Part 2/2)

iTunes | Listen Now! | Player | Spreaker | Stitcher| YouTube

On this episode of the Me Myself and I podcast, I conclude my interview with my guest Joe Pardo. As you probably already know on the show I like to discuss self discovery and self development. Something my guest today is very familiar with…Getting up, putting yourself out there and taking on your obstacles head on–despite your circumstances.

Dreaming with Joe Pardo

Joe and Melissa visit West Palm!

That being said, Joe Pardo has overcome some difficult odds this past year when he decided to become an entrepreneur. What I find even more fascinating and inspiring, is that he used this as an opportunity to show the rest of the world that it’s okay to follow your heart, and to help others in the process.

I’ve got to commend Joe. Not many people have the ability to see things for what they could be, as opposed to what they are. Joe sees the good in everything around. He is a genuine, charismatic guy with huge things in store.
With a resume about as long as my arm, Pardo is the Voice of The Dreamers Podcast and Author of 31 Life Changing Concepts. I consider Joe to be a mentor, however today I call him a friend. Our conversation was too good for one 30 minute episode. This Part 2.

Thank you for subscribing to the show and listening to the second installment.

The Evolution of the Me Myself and I Radio Podcast

You may be asking yourself “What is a podcast anyway?”

The Merriam Webster Tenth International Collegiate defines “Podcast” as: a program (as of music or talk) made available in digital format for automatic download over the Internet.[1]

Listen Now! | iTunes | Spreaker | Stitcher | YouTube

Firstly, I would like to pay homage to those individuals who have took the time out of their busy lives to support my endeavors. Faline, Sue, Betsy, Mike, Alex, Ana, Victor, Amanda, Stephanie, Joe, Harold, Eric, Jason, Colin, Matt, Gil, Jay, Frank, Lisa, Debbie, Elizabeth, Alexandra, Adam; the list goes on. Thanks for all the shares, ratings, comments, likes, tweets and retweets!
Secondly, I would like to thank the podcasting community for allowing me to pick their brains as I learn how to produce my show. Marie Lanza host of The DiRT, Chris Wilson & Stephen Warley from the UnStuckable podcast, AC Fuller from writer 2.0 podcast and Author of Anonymous Source; Thank you. To all those who take part in the “lets talk” discussions, I appreciate you.

I especially want to thank my good friend and mentor, Joe Pardo. Joe is the Author of 31 Life Changing Concepts, host of Dreamers Podcast, as well as Living the Dream Podcast. He is a speaker, web designer, DJ, husband, teacher, rocket scientist, ninja and a just downright cool cat!

I hope by now you’ve gotten the chance to enjoy the show. If you haven’t, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR! LOL

When I was getting started, I used only my iPhone, earbuds, the Spreaker app, and had no real direction with my message.

Recording a podcast and writing a blog is much more involved than you think. Its not as simple as flipping on a microphone, or journal your daily activities. You have to learn several different elements to hone in on your new craft. Things like:

  • Audio engineering
  • Analytics
  • Web design
  • Creativity
  • Interviewing skills
  • Graphic design
  • Marketing
  • Networking
  • Blog requirements
  • Search engine optimization
  • Bo Staff skills & Nunchuck skills

Ok the last bullet point you may be able to do without. But, do Keep in mind these are just a few examples. I stumbled into podcasting actually. I didn’t even really know what it was. That was about a year ago.

There are more than 115,000 English-language podcasts available on the internet. (Source Wikipedia)

Today, I have a new laptop, a website, blog, two mics, a mixer, headphones, and editing software all to produce Me Myself and I. Is it perfect? Not in the slightest. It is however evolving everyday such as life. My message reflects that sediment. Have a great weekend and I will be in touch.

Final Thoughts

You have the ability to help raise up and support others everyday. By doing so you will become a better you, rising to new heights like never before. Next time someone asks for a vote, like, share, or retweet do it. You may need them to do the same in the future.

Be a part of something bigger than yourself.
